The former Michigan Airline, a rail path, has now become the 16-mile (25.74-kilometer) stretch of the Clinton River Trail, connecting South Opdyke Road to Dequindre Road. This long, winding path is mainly used for biking and hiking. Though most of trail is unpaved, traversing it is not a problem. The museum itself is located on a 16-acre property, that dates back to the early 19th Century, once belonging to the Taylor and Van Hoosen families.
