Indiana State Fair Hoosier Lottery Grandstand at Indiana State Fairgrounds is a popular venue that hosts various events from concerts, consumer shows to auto racing and so on. The venue has been well built with a capacity of 15,500 along with track seats, concession booths, wheelchair accessible restrooms and so on. The stage has dressing rooms and shower facilities underneath it. Many concerts by popular bands, racing events and community events are held here.

Formerly a theater, today the Emerson Theater has been completely transformed into a musical hub. American Legion Mall (ALM) pays homage to the sacrifice of the World War I heroes, namely: Corporal James B. Gresham of Company F, 16th Infantry and Evansville Indiana. Located north of downtown Indianapolis, the International House of Pitting (I.H.O.P.) is a preferred stopover for renowned touring punk bands and indie rock bands. Although the venue is small and can easily be overshadowed by other bigger venues, the intimacy it provides with the bands matches no other. Upcoming bands like JabberJosh, Closet Burner and The Classless have all performed to a packed house at International House of Pitting (I.H.O.P.).

A tavern that has been around for decades, the Vollrath Tavern has come to be a sort of an icon in downtown Indianapolis. Opened in 1926, the tavern survived through the notorious prohibition period, and has emerged as a favorite among locals as well as visitors. The bar has stayed more or less the same over the years, even its wooden plank floors and tiles remaining the same. Today, besides being an attraction on account of being one of John Dillinger's favorite hangouts during the Depression, Vollrath Tavern is one of the city's prominent live music venues, and hosts local as well as nationally touring bands.
