Artist/owner, Julia Arajuo, creates drawings, paintings, and mixed media assemblages. She uses common objects and fabrics to explore the female existence within society's double standards and personal agendas. But it's her hand-painted, one-of-a-kind dolls, which resemble artifacts of ancient civilizations, that are the real crowdpleasers. Make your home, office, or business a treasure cove with a work by Julia Araguo. Studio is open by appointment only.
Located at Seagate Drive and Clayton Road, this beach access point is a must-visit. About 3/4 of a mile long, the boardwalk directs beach-goers through the mangrove forest to the sandy Clam Pass Beach Park. While traversing the coastal habitat, you'll see a variety of native living organisms, especially birds. Yet, what is most interesting are the the white, red and black mangroves that are growing here, protected by federal laws. Remarkably, these plants are salt-tolerant and help maintain the ecosystem's delicate food chain. Clam Pass Beach Park is open daily from 8 a.m. to sundown and public parking is available; it is free for those visitors who have a beach parking sticker. It is the perfect relaxation destination for families!
As an outlet of the Cocohatchee River, this barrier island also runs along the Gulf of Mexico. Snorkeling, sunbathing, swimming, kayaking, fishing and wildlife exploration are some of the many adventures to embark upon at Delnor Wiggins Pass State Park. Thriving with life, the main attraction here is the mangrove forest. Remember to pay special attention to off-limit areas where swimming may be dangerous or where fishing is not allowed in order to maintain marine life preservation. Keep in mind that due to the busyness and popularity of the winter season, the park closes admission once its maximum capacity has been reached, so come early! The park opens daily at 8 a.m. Note that admission fees include $6 per vehicle and $2 per pedestrian or bicyclist.
