Camp Hale was a training facility of the army of United States of America in function since 1942. Located in the Eagle River valley, it is named after renowned General Irving Hale. At this facility, the soldiers were trained in mountain climbing, skiing, surviving in the cold weather, and also special martial arts skills. After the World War II, this was decommissioned. It is a feature on the National Register of Historic Places.

Tucked behind the Gypsum Recreation Center, the Lundgren Theater is a community event space that promotes arts and creativity. This structure has an interesting story, Lundgren House was to be demolished to pave way for the Recreation Center and in a bid to preserve this historic house it was decided to relocate the home. Accordingly Lundgren House was moved and now it serves as the Lundgren Theater. Today, this modern venue has a seating capacity of 3500 guests; it hosts variety of events throughout the year. Summer concerts, drama, musicals and similar events are a regular feature here. Lundgren Theater can also be hired for private celebrations and parties.
