PegHorn Nature Park and Trail is located in the friendly town of St. Cloud, just east of Kissimmee and a little southeast of Orlando. The park encompasses 58 acres of native flora and wildlife, giving visitors to the park a chance to experience the natural Florida setting as it has been for years. PegHorn Nature Park and Trail features a number of ranger-led activities for kids of all ages, plus a look into life in the late 1800s in the form of an onsite Cracker Village displaying the heritage of the area. If you've got small children who love to touch some furry critter, here is the place to go. This popular farm caters to the needs of more than 300 farm animals, and all are pleased to be petted. Pony rides are available too, and both adults and children can try their fingers at milking a cow. Owner, Captain Bill Daniel is a U.S. Coast Guard-licensed seaman, a conservationist, and a river historian. Who better to take you and your family on a tour of Florida's pristine St. John's River? The 90-minute tour includes backwaters and marshland, where you'll almost certainly get an up-close view of some of Florida's famous wildlife. Take a trip to this 70-acre park and see thousands of alligators and crocodiles up close. Visit breeding pens, nurseries and rearing ponds. Children love the site's mini water park, and the petting zoo boasts goats, lambs and other barnyard animals. Make sure to walk the 2000-foot boardwalk winding its way through a cypress swamp. If you get hungry, grab a bite at the on-site Pearl's Smokehouse. The menu features smoked alligator ribs and deep-fried gator nuggets.
