Take a relaxing, private tour from Marvelous Marv, locally known as the "Indiana Jones of the Grand Canyon." Marv will pick up four-14 guests from Williams or Tusayan accommodations, then transport them directly to the Grand Canyon's South rim for a bite of lunch (not included) at the Yavapai Cafeteria, shopping, sight seeing and an easy hike. View the ruins of a once prosperous agrarian civilization from atop a high ridge. The people who lived here, the Sinagua, cultivated this land from about 1100-1400 A.D. Originally consisting of approximately 110 rooms, the structure at one time sported three stories in places. Investigate the visitor's center, then follow interpretive trails-walk the paths of a strong and persistent people. The monument is located about 20 miles southwest of Sedona off highway 89A in Clarkdale. Admission is USD3 per person, cash only. Other ancient ruins nearby include Montezuma's Castle and Well.

The Indian name of this retreat simply means "the best of everything". This picturesque recreated Mexican Village offers a unique collection of galleries, restaurants, shops and a small chapel. Named for a particularly beautiful suburb of Mexico's Guadalajara, the open-air market built in the '70s exudes the flavor of Mexico. Fine dining is available at several on-site restaurants including El Rincon or Rene at Tlaquepaque. Lovely galleries abound, such as Mountain Trails, with wildlife paintings and sculptures; you can also find spiritual artwork from American Indian artists at Bear Cloud Gallery.

Stake out a little piece of Southwestern artistry from the galleries here at Mountain Trails. Choose from historical or contemporary pieces including paintings, sculpture and photographs. More than 50 artists are represented in two galleries at the beautiful Tlaquepaque. Featured items include limited edition bronzes by Scott Rogers and paintings by the popular Steven Lang, as well as the intricately detailed watercolors from Lisa Danielle.

Twenty miles Northwest of Sedona lies the little town of Clarkdale. Founded in 1912, the place was originally a mining town. Today, the population is just more than 3,000 residents and the economic base is related to various industries including tourism, plastics and cement. For 10 days beginning the first Friday in December, you may view the collections from local artists at the annual "Made in Clarkdale Art Show" event. Clarkdale is also the location for daily tours of the beautiful canyons from the Verde Canyon Railroad.

Enjoy year-round golf in the shadow of cottonwoods lining Beaver Creek. 6386 yards of play are offered on this par-71 course. It is located southeast of Sedona, off Interstate 17, about three and a-half miles east of exit 293. Let the great blue herons and the occasional deer or raccoon play through as you enjoy the fabulous Arizona sunshine.
