The Kennedy Mine is a Gold mine swanks of being one of the deepest on the Mother Lode. The monumental mine is situated at Jackson in California. It is a registered California Historical Landmark along with the Argonaut Mine. It was built in 1914 by eminent architect James Spears. The Kennedy Mine Foundation protects and preserves the historic structures of the Kennedy Mine and also shares its affluent history. It was closed in 1942 and the Kennedy Gold Mine Gift Shop offers a varied range of the gold related items and even books on gold mining. The mine site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Preston Castle or the the Preston School of Industry, is a former reform school in Ione, California. Built in 1890 by Schieltez and Henery, the building is an excellent example of Romanesque Revival style architecture. The red stone building features minarets and turrets along with gable roofs. Supposedly haunted, this structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975 and is also a California Historical Landmark.
Officially the world's largest corn maze, Dixon's Corn Maze covers more than 40 acres (16 hectares) of land. The Chew Kee Store was established by Yee Fung Cheung, a herb doctor, during the Gold Rush period. Now a museum, this store was home to several traditional chinese objects, including cigar boxes, medicinal herbs, opium and other products. These were brought in by the store's then merchant and operator, Chew Kee. The museum is a rammed earth structure, and is one of the last remaining Chinese structures that represents the once prosperous Chinese community of California.

The Bohart Museum of Entomology has one of the widest insect collections in North America. It has over seven million arthropods specimen on display.
