Cypress Lakes Golf Course dates back to 1960, when it was designed by Joe Finger, and is managed by the US Air Force Services Agency. This 18-hole par-72 course is marked by undulating greens and scattered plantation around the holes, which poses a challenge for the golfers. The facilities at the course include a wonderful driving range, a restaurant and banquet space, which are available only to armed personnel. Metal spikes are allowed at the course. This river is a popular spot for locals and visitors during Sacramento's infamously hot summers. While it is prone to flooding during the rainy season, it's common to see boats and jet-skis dotting the river landscape on nice days. There are also hiking trails around the area that offer spectacular views of the river and the city. There are a host of recreational activities such as fishing, kayaking, and swimming that can be enjoyed on the river.

Thunder Valley Casino brings a little Vegas to the outer-Sacramento landscape. A relatively recent addition to the area, it hosts over 2700 slot machines and almost 100 gaming tables for gambling enthusiasts to enjoy. It focuses on environmental education and restoration of the Yolo Bypass Region, in cooperation with the California Department of Fish & Game. The organization introduces people to wildlife, and teaches them to live harmoniously alongside; it is also a sponsor for non-profit events, such as California Duck Days. The Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts is a world-class performance space opened by the University of California, Davis, in 2002. The space hosts both regional and national performers, and funds the University Orchestra. Situated between F Street and Oak Avenue, the Community Park sits pretty. It has a community pool, a tennis court, two play areas, a public skate park and a dog park. The 28 acres of lush greenery and fun is open during the day. The skating park, which has a concrete ramp, is open for skateboarding. It also features many soccer fields and softball backstops.

The Yolo Basin Foundation is dedicated to the appreciation of wetlands and wildlife through education and innovative methods. Bucks for Ducks is an annual fund raiser event organized by this foundation. It features wildlife art exhibits, field trips and workshops, and the ever-popular ducklings! All the proceeds go to the Foundation for Conservation and other education programs.
