The historically significant Perkiomen Bridge was initially constructed from 1798 through 1799. The bridge ably crosses over the Perkiomen Creek that lies in close proximity to Collegevillein Pennsylvania. The bridge encompasses an area cover of less than one acre. The bridge was further widened in 1928. It efficiently follows the Multi-span ston arch style of architecture. It also stands listed on the prestigious National Register of Historic Places.

This historic wooden covered bridge is a 75 foot long Burr Truss bridge that is called the Speakman No. 1. This wooden bridge is covered with an arch on the top, it is great in it's structure and still welcomes the traffic to pass through it. Small pathways are on the sides for the people to walk pass through it. It is a great piece of history that displays an old style of architecture and is absolutely beautiful.
