Sometimes recreation means watching a movie, visiting a bar or kicking back with a good book in one of Orlando's lovely parks. But on those days when you just have to get moving, visit this fort. You'll find a public tennis center, Olympic-size swimming pool, and a volleyball court. Kids especially like the playground. If you expect all this activity will leave you hungry, pack a lunch. The park also offers picnic facilities.

WonderWorks bills itself as a museum " "where science has gone crazy. This attraction will amuse both children and adults and they can pick up some quirky scientific information along the way. This bright, upside-down establishment offers more than 100 hands-on exhibits, including the Bridge of Fire walk-through (which simulates the power of 250,000 watts of electricity), a Mystery Lab and the Earthquake Experience simulation room. Visit for a quirky and educational experience.

Ripley's operates 35 oddity museums worldwide, and the experience of visiting one is a bit like devouring a pint of ice cream; you know it's not really good for you, but boy is it fun! The Orlando collection is housed in a Bavarian-style building, deliberately disproportioned to look like part of it has disappeared into one of Florida's infamous sinkholes. Inside, you'll find such oddities as a statue of a 1,069-pound man, torture devices from the Spanish Inquisition and a replica of a 1907 Rolls Royce built from more than a million matchsticks. Putting Edge Fun Center, located in the Festival Bay Mall on International Drive in Orlando, is not the typical putt-putt course most people are used to playing. Guest of all ages can play a round or two of miniature golf on an unusual and very entertaining glow-in-the-dark course. This indoor course comes to life with amazing out of this world vivid and dazzlingly colored surroundings.  Putting Edge Fun Center provides upbeat music playing in the background that creates an entertaining setting for the entire family. Vans Skatepark is conveniently located in the Festival Bay Mall on International Drive in Orlando. Skaters from all around descend on the park, which offers a number of courses especially designed for skateboarders, rollerbladers and even BMX riders. This massive park features air-conditioned indoor skating and outdoor areas for all ages or skill levels, and also hosts special events and offers clinics for those looking to work on their skating skills. Highlights of the skatepark include an indoor 25,000-square-foot "Main Street" course, a 15,000-square-foot outdoor course, a "Dough Boy Bowl" with depths from four to eight feet, a massive warm up "street course" as well as mini ramps, a vert ramp and an arcade room. -Diane Dilov-Schultheis

CoCo Key Water Resort is a massive 62,000-square-foot water park constructed within a hotel and recognized as Orlando's Largest Canopy Covered and Outdoor Water Park. Located on the popular International Drive in Orlando, admittance to the water park is included with the rooms for guest of the hotel, but daily passes are also available. Highlights of the water park include a special water play area for the youngest family members, an enormous jungle gym for the kids, a teen activity pool featuring a cyclone slide, two long adventure slides and a double rider slide. Characters in Flight is located on the west side of Downtown Disney a short distance south of the city of Orlando. It is a massive balloon that is tethered 400 feet over the Downtown Disney area and offers amazing, memorable sights of much of the Walt Disney World Resort properties with views as far away as 10 miles. The vividly colored and internally illuminated balloon features pictures of the most famous Disney characters and has a gondola that is big enough to accommodate 29 passengers plus the pilot. Characters in Flight is the "world's largest tethered gas balloon" and provides its passengers with spectacular panoramic views of Walt Disney World. - Diane Dilov-Schultheis

A classically designed course, New Course at Grand Cypress Golf Club offers more challenges in terms of slopes and mounds. The course is a bit tough even to the most experienced and skilled golfer. To pose a new dimension to the challenge is the not so prominent water body which might suddenly come into the picture. The landscape even with very less trees, still is spectacular. The course is designed by Jack Nicklaus and inspired by the much acclaimed St. Andrews course. 

Boatwright's Dining Hall is located in Walt Disney World's Port Orleans Resort next to the main lobby. With all of the creative workmanship found here, it will seem like you've stepped inside an actual boat factory. There is a massive ship hull overhead and numerous other marine artifacts spread throughout. They offer all of the Cajun-inspired customary dishes, along with numerous American classics for breakfast and dinner. The desserts include scrumptious French pastries. Boatwright's Dining Hall is a fun place for the whole family to enjoy a home-cooked southern feast. With Spaceship Earth, or what looks to be a giant golf ball, as its icon, Epcot has been a Walt Disney World favorite since it opened in 1982. Epcot celebrates technology and the future through two parts: Future World and World Showcase. Future World explores technology while World Showcase has pavilions representing eleven countries from around the world. Epcot has rides but features shows and tours ranging from Honey I Shrunk the Audience to an environmental show The Circle of Life. Nearby, enjoy live performances at the America Gardens outdoor arena.
