CenturyLink Center (CenturyLink Convention Center, Metropolitan Entertainment and Convention Authority (MECA), and CenturyLink Arena) connects via skywalk to Hilton Hotel, and is located 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) from Eppley Airfield. It boasts 194,000 square feet of exhibition space, 16 meeting rooms and a 30,000 square foot Grand Ballroom capable of accommodating over 2,100 banquet guests. The MECA is a non-profit organization formed to manage the construction and operations of CenturyLink Center. The arena is a premier entertainment and sports venue that hosts events like concerts, sporting events, and family shows and is home to hockey and basketball teams. Eric Clapton, Van Halen, and Josh Groban are just a few of the artists who have performed at the arena.

This self-proclaimed "gallery tucked away in a parking lot" is an artsy conglomeration of paintings, sculptures, glass works, metal works and photography presented in a classic whitewashed, brick-walled setting. The organization strives to provide an outlet for member artists to exhibit their work and local residents and visitors to experience and enjoy these visual arts. This course is perfect for beginners or anyone who is looking for a fast round. This short par 3 measures 1239 yards from the tee box. The nine holes offer a mix of conditions that test even seasoned golfers. Both a putting green and chipping area help fine-tune short game skills. There is no driving range. Make sure you bring cash because no credit cards are accepted.

This city golf course features nine holes and bent grass with water in play. The par 35 makes it a solid game for golfers of all skill levels. As with many other small, public courses, there is no driving range or putting green. A clubhouse does offer refreshments and snacks. What it lacks in luxuries, the course makes up for in price.

This is the place for railroad enthusiasts. Showcased here is Union Pacific's famous steam locomotive dubbed Big Boy. Visitors will also see the largest diesel locomotive ever built. Along with the sights comes a history lesson. Audio recordings share the story of how these huge machines came to be. Admission is free. The park is located just one mile north of downtown Omaha.

Take a walk along the riverfront in this 31-acre park. Conveniently located in downtown Omaha, visitors will enjoy the breathtaking beauty of a lake and two fountains. The more modern, computerized Heartland of America fountain shoots water 300 feet into the air and features a colorful nighttime light show. A ride on the General Marion tour boat proves interesting, as well as fun. Live concerts add to the relaxed atmosphere on Friday nights in June, July and August. Admission is free.

Few visitors expect to find such an impressive art collection in the middle of the prairie. Masterpieces abound here. The permanent exhibit includes works by El Greco, Degas, Monet and Renoir. 19th- and 20th-century art receive a special focus. The museum building itself is a striking, architectural find. Thirty-eight different types of marble were used in construction. The exterior glows a light pink, setting the building apart from the rest of downtown Omaha.
