The Florence Depot was built in 1887, and originally located in downtown Florence, Omaha, at 28th and Grebe street. After its relocation, the depot became an important stop for the Omaha and Northwestern Railroad Company that operated lines between Omaha and Blair, as it was a stop-off point for cargo as well as commuters. However, after it was shut down in 1966, the depot the building went into neglect, and was going to be demolished, if not for the intervention of a local association.
