11630 Sahler Street
Omaha, NE 68164
+1 402 493 1740
A 1977 construction date means mature trees line the fairways of this 18-hole, public course. Water hazards and bunkers prove challenging in places, although a few well-placed drives can help you stay a few strokes under the par 72. Warm up on the driving range or ask the on-site golf pro for pointers. The clubhouse offers a full-service bar and snacks.

12101 Deer Creek Drive
Omaha, NE 68142

Play Nebraska's only signature golf facility designed by Arnold Palmer. Located in northwest Omaha, the sprawling fairways resemble more of a country setting. Rolling hills and numerous bunkers challenge even the most precise hitters. All 18 holes are complete, with the final nine of this championship 27-hole course still under construction. Fees include a cart. Best Golf magazine calls this "one of the top 100 new courses in the U.S."

Spend a relaxing afternoon outside. This lake sits amid several different housing developments in one of Omaha's fastest growing corridors. It is easy to get to, but quietly secluded from the daily hustle and bustle. You will find fishermen and boaters out on the water from spring to fall. A biking and walking path provides good exercise for both people and pets year-round. Picnic areas and public bathrooms are both available.

Park Road & State Street
Omaha, NE 68122
+1 402 444 4632
Here is the perfect place to spend a sunny day. Boating, sailing and fishing top the list of favorite activities, but you do not have to go in the water to have fun. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the view or kick back on a bench and relax. Steep sledding hills and cross-country skiing draw people here in the winter. A campground makes this lake unique, with 57 spots complete with electricity for RVs. Tents are also welcome. Admission is free; however, there is a charge for camping facilities.

If you love to work on your short game, this course is for you. Long fairways give way to greens that prove challenging to even the best putters. The 18-hole, par 72 stretches 6,928 yards from the championship tees. Greens fees run higher than some public courses, but these grounds are well kept. An on-site putting green and driving range make warm-ups easy. No credit cards are accepted.

10302 South 168th Street
Omaha, NE 68136
+1 402 895 2688
This championship course features 27 challenging holes. With 10,505 yards in play, the fairways are long and prove difficult for even the most experienced golfers. Designers Dave Barrett and Larry Hagewood built the bent grass course in 1989. A driving range, putting green and chipping area offer plenty of practice space. The clubhouse features a full bar and a restaurant.

16810 Harney Street
Omaha, NE 68118

Experienced golfers will find this par 70, 18-hole course most challenging. Thick rough borders narrow fairways, while natural water hazards add to the difficulty level. Players may choose to warm up at the driving range or take a pre or post game break in the clubhouse. Another amenity is a complete 18-hole, grass putting course.

This short course sits just to the east of a busy shopping center. Any long balls may put passing drivers at risk. The par 3, 9-hole course totals 1,246 yards and welcomes beginners who may be working on their games. No driving range or electric carts are available. You can rent a pull cart. No credit cards are accepted.

The jewel here is Wehrspann Lake. Area fishermen love it. Good catches abound, but you may not always have something to take home. The Natural Resources District strongly encourages everyone to catch and release surviving fish back into the water. The recreation area also features an extensive trail system stretching more than seven miles. The trek gives bikers, hikers and joggers a chance to enjoy Nebraska's beauty. Admission is free.
