An impressive 28 acres (11.3 hectares) is what this park measures, offering a green vista for a variety of recreation and leisure activities. Located right by the river, the park offers a playground, picnic pavilions, an open-air shelter, a canoe ramp, a volleyball court, and also facilities for fishing, among other amenities. The Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory is a huge expanse of lush green land that includes three domes built on the lines of a beehive that are connected to each other by a central lobby. Each of these domes boast of a diameter of 140 feet and a height of 85 feet! These domes hide under their cocoon, a plethora of plant life from all the continents of the world. The Arid Dome houses a collection of cacti, shrubs and other plants which survive in the different desert lands in the African and the American Continent. The Tropical Dome features plants and flowers found in the tropical areas and rainforests, while the Floral Show Dome offers seasonal displays of various plants. The South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center or SMPAC is a center founded with the mission to spread awareness about culture and encourage creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. With this objective it conducts workshops, seminars and other events that enable the artists to refine their skills and showcase their talent as well. For fifteen years and counting, the Cactus Club has been playing host to an assorted list of bands in modern rock and roll. Cactus Club has boasts that the White Stripes, Queens of the Stone Age, Spoon, Interpol, Bright Eyes, and a plethora of others have walked through their doors and played their stage. More than a century old, the mansion still stands as a testament to the labor and toil of all the workers who built it. Opened to the public in 1978, the place is being restored to match it's original splendor. One of the finest residences in the city, no cost or innovation would be spared in its design. The whole mansion was wired for electricity and plumbed for nine full bathrooms when it was built in 1892. It was installed with a state-of-the-art heating system by the company now known as Johnson Controls which could regulate the heat in the mansion with 16 thermostats and custom-built furniture for the majority of its rooms. Now a major tourist attraction,the mansion can also be rented for weddings, business conferences and other events.

Indian Summer Festival started in 1986 and is held every September at the Henry Maier Festival Park. Visitors throng the venue for the jazz performances, art booths, lacrosse and Indian Summer Music Awards. Pow Wow, a traditional dancing, singing and storytelling competition which showcases American Indian culture, is one of the main attractions. Dylan's Run-a two-mile run and walk to benefit the autism society-is also held during the festival.

Touted as the world's largest Irish cultural festival, this annual event is held at the Henry Maier Festival Park. Every August, visitors gather for days of fireworks, music, CéilĂ­ dancing, games, sports, shopping and food. Past entertainers include dancers from Trinity Academy of Irish Dance and Young Dubliners. A newsletter is also available for those who would like to be updated with the festival.

This stadium, seating over 12,000 people, is located in the town of Milwaukee near Lake Michigan.
