Located in the Avenues West area of the city, the Tripoli Shrine Temple is one of Milwaukee's most interesting landmarks. This beautiful structure is actually an architectural replica of the Taj Mahal. In 1928 it earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. Today it is home to the Milwaukee Shriners. The Shriners, or Shrine Masons, are an international fraternity belonging to the "Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine." The Tripoli Shrine Temple is a popular venue for wedding receptions, banquets and other private events.

The Haggerty Museum of Art, located on the campus of Marquette University, features thousands of works from both old masters and well as contemporary artists. The collection includes works for such famous artists as Salvador Dali, Marc Chagall, and Keith Haring. This museum is definitely worth a visit, but check their website ahead of time as the museum is currently closed for maintenance.

This genuine Medieval French chapel originally belonged to the royal line of the Dukes of Orleans-Longueville. It was eventually moved to the United States and was the property of the Rojtman family is was located on the grounds of the New York estate they purchased. However, the Rojtman family eventually decided to gift this amazing chapel to Marquette University. It was dismantled and sent to the university to be reconstructed. The entire process took months. The chapel was officially dedicated to St. Joan of Arc on May 26, 1966. Today visitors come from far and wide to appreciate this tiny gem.

Bring your band out of the garage into this club-a great place for first-timers to make an impression. The venue can accommodate up to 400 people, and sports a sleek wooden table in the adjacent bar, two attached massive halls and a connecting grand ballroom with a 25,000 square foot dance floor. Bob Dylan, Marilyn Manson, No Doubt, Alice Cooper, Lenny Kravitz and the Smashing Pumpkins have put in appearances here, to the delight of screaming fans. Keep a close watch on the website for upcoming events; it gets updated rather close to the show, thus ensuring of serpentine ticket lines.

Opened in 2000, the Eisner Museum of Advertising & Design is named in honor of William F. Eisner, a Milwaukee native who, at age 33, opened a local advertising agency, and who subsequently went on to make many significant contributions to the field of advertising.The Eisner aims to be both interactive and educational. It's focus is on the history of advertising and its impact on society. Exhibits change regularly so be sure to check the website to see what is going to be featured at the time of your visit. Past exhibits have included "50 Years of Presidential Commercials" and "The Shopping Bag."

Also known as the Henry Maier Festival Grounds, this park is a famous event venue. Situated in downtown Milwaukee along the Lake Michigan shoreline, it hosts many of the city's festivals, including the Summerfest. Moreover, this 80-plus acres park has five permanent stages and an amphitheater, which makes it the most sought-after space for concerts. Visitors also come to stroll about or walk their dogs in the mornings.

Like the Milwaukee airport, the Mitchell Gallery of Flight is named after General William "Billy" Mitchell, a great military leader and the "Father of the Air Force." The museum features items significant to US aviation history and specifically that of Wisconsin. There is also a section devoted to Billy Mitchell, and on display are many items from airships and air crafts. This museum is free to the public and is definitely worth a visit, certainly for those flying in and out of MKE. 

Located just outside Milwaukee in the city of Glendale, Sprecher is a small brewery which was founded in 1985 by Randal Sprecher. The brewery was actually located in Milwaukee's Walker's Point area until 1994 when a need to expand brought the brewery to the city of Glendale. Sprecher brews nine beers in total, most notably the Black Baviarian which is a surprisingly light beer. The company is also known for their sodas, the most popular being the root beer. Sprecher offers tours (which include generous tastings) on most days, but reservations are required, so call ahead.

Veterans Park at Milwaukee is a tranquil park that is green to the core and a perfect place for family picnics and outings. The park gets particularly crowded during evenings, concerts, festivals and for the famous Saturday night firework show. With popular places like Lake Michigan and the art museum just around the corner and the bicycle trails crossing though the grassy area, the park has everything that could contribute to a perfect event. Make it a day with your entire family especially during summers, and you will not end up disappointed.

Located on the shores of Lake Michigan the appropriately named Lakeshore State Park is a beautiful green space perfect for picnicking, sunbathing, and appreciating all the lake has to offer. It is conveniently located near Discovery World and the Milwaukee Art Museum. It also plays host to the Lakefront Festival of the Arts next summer.
