In the Downtown Historic District, the Gallery at Avalon Island presents new exhibits on the third Thursday of every month. Special events open with an art reception held onsite in the oldest commercial building, the Rodgers building. This historical building contains the art gallery, an 80-seat theater and a private café with another gallery. The theater and café are available for private, personal or business events. The Gallery at Avalon Island is an independent modern gallery that displays international and local works to the public. -Diane Dilov-Schultheis
