View the remains of a 50,000-year old meteor impact, which crashed with a force greater than 20 million tons of TNT exploding. 550 feet deep and nearly 2 1/2 miles in circumference, its terrain is so similar to the moon that NASA used it as a training site for Apollo Astronauts. The visitor center features exhibits and multi-media presentations. A gift shop and snack bar are available onsite. Located 35 miles east of Flagstaff on Interstate-40. Admission is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and $5 for children.
