1350 West Highway 89A
Sedona, AZ 86336
Across from the Red Planet Diner, this mini-deli specializes in authentic New York style bagels. Breakfast and deli sandwiches ($3.25-4.95) are served from the counter. Bagels are also available by the dozen for $6. Decor and atmosphere are sparse, with a few old black and white New York photos hanging around the microscopic storefront. This is a place where locals know enough to stake out tables early, so unless you know the routine, you had better plan to order take-out.

(on the north side of Highway 89A; at the White House Inn)

Tacked onto the White House Inn in West Sedona, this tiny place offers nutritious and natural cuisine. Secure one of the counter seats, or one of the few tables in the pastel painted dining room. The Pad Thai noodles with chicken and veggies are popular, and pleasing curries (available with chicken, beef, shrimp or tofu) are also available. The "Vegetable Lovers" section features a macrobiotic platter "specially prepared at your request a day ahead of time by Pearl who studied at The Vega Institute." Menu items are priced from $3.50-12.95, with Thai teas and soft drinks $1-$2.

2050 Yavapai Drive
Sedona, AZ 86336
This upscale but casual microbrewery produces some of the state's finest lagers and ales, and now also serves wines and champagnes to a typically young clientele. To go along with the golden elixirs, choose from bar-style appetizers, sandwiches and entrees that are created to complement the brews. Pub fare is offered in its Bavarian Kitchen (open 4p-8:30p nightly). Wednesday night is ladies' night, with drink specials for female patrons. Live entertainment on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays includes mellow rock, folk and blues performances.

(South side of State Route 89A)
Sedona, AZ 86336
If they gave an award for the most peculiar place to dine in Sedona, there's no doubt that this diner would win, year after year. Where else can you sit next to a eight-foot-tall alien or order Lunar Linguini? More than a hundred UFO photos are featured in this unidentified-style eatery. Enjoy a Meteor Shower Shakes with your Vulcan Veggie Burger and mingle with the aliens. Most meals are in the USD6-15 range, with alcoholic beverages priced from USD3-6.

1910 W Hwy 89A
Suite 102
Sedona, AZ 86336
This unassuming restaurant tucked into a Sedona strip mall proffers well-prepared dishes. Starched tablecloths give a bit of a formal feel to the otherwise casual dining room. Name your favorite Indian dish and it is probably on the menu. From samosas to kormas, vindaloos to basmati and parantha, the large menu runs the gamut. The daily all-you-can-eat lunch buffet is a bargain. Vegetarians will find many options. Full bar service is offered.

2545 Hwy 89A
Sedona, AZ 86336
American and Mediterranean-inspired dishes are served in the pastel-toned dining room, which manages to be country without getting "kitschy". The stone exterior of the restaurant gives it an Italian country-cottage-like quality. The restaurant also offers grilled Certified Angus steaks, fish and seafood and poultry dishes at dinner. At lunch, soups, sandwiches and salads are added. Breakfasts are hearty and have that "just like grandma used to make" quality.

2920 W Hwy 89A
Sedona, AZ 86336
Sister to the popular Judi's Restaurant, here you will find hearty, "stick-to-your-ribs" breakfasts, barbecue and Mexican fare. The mascots are cartoon characters; Yosemite Sam and the Tasmanian Devil and give a lighthearted touch to the atmosphere. Try the Sampler Platter, which includes salad, bread and two tasty side dishes. The restaurant is open for three meals a day. Leave room for Judi's famous homemade desserts!

2370 W Hwy 89A
Suite 6
Sedona, AZ 86336
The hand-tossed, pizzas and wings are staples served at this family-owned operation. Eat in this cartoon-like setting, or have them delivered. Pizzas come with a choice of nearly 20 toppings. One unusual combination, the Mexicana, features refried beans, chiles, cheese, onions, tomatoes and olives. A few salads, subs and pastas round out the menu. Beer by the half pitcher is a bargain. They will even deliver wine or beer with your order. Bring cash. Credit cards are not accepted.
