You can eat octopus at New Parthenon for lunch, dinner or a midnight snack. This popular spot is usually open until 3am, and it's a favorite with the late-night bar crowd. Surrounded by huge Greek statues and garish Art Deco murals, diners can also sample the Parthenon special trio of baked eggplant, pastitso baked macaroni and spinach pie. The other Greek staples, including the stews and the flaming cheese, are all on the big menu. Like its competitor the New Hellas, the New Parthenon is simply a remodeled update of the original Parthenon restaurant. Locals and visitors have been stuffing themselves with grape leaves in lemon sauce here for decades.
