Although you'll find Leo's all over Metro Detroit, the Southfield location is the original. One thing Detroiters know and love are their Coney's, and Leo's is up there at the top of the list. Of course they serve the traditional Coney Dog, along with the Greek dishes and pitas you would expect at your typical Coney joint, breakfast, burgers and other diner staples. The food is cheap and comes quick, making it perfect for a filling meal on the go.

Hunter House Hamburgers opened in 1952, and the interior looks like a day hasn't passed with its classic diner vibe. As the name implies, Hunter House is best known for its delicious classic slider-style burgers, with sweet onions smashed into the meat during cooking. The menu isn't much beyond the famous burger, but diners not in the mood can opt for grilled cheese, hot dogs, Coneys or chili. Hunter House also serves breakfast until mid-morning. It accepts cash payments only.
Miller's Bar, despite the name, is actually best known for what comes out of its kitchen rather than behind the bar. Since 1941 Miller's has been serving up a simple menu: burgers, with Swiss cheese or Velveeta, fries, onion rings and tuna, corned beef, ham and grilled cheese sandwiches. But what they are really known for nationwide is the burger, which is hand ground daily beginning at 4a. Standard condiments are available as are onions and pickles, but you won't find any lettuce or tomato here - don't worry you won't miss it!
Old Mexico occupies a small but bustling restaurant space on Livonia's Five Mile Road, offering south-of-the-border flavors to hungry locals. The menu hits most of the familiar highlights of Tex-Mex cuisine. The bar at Old Mexico is gigantic, although the selection isn't quite as impressive, the drink menu squeezing in a few standard interpretations of the margarita as well as offering guests a build-your-own option with tequilas and mixers listed below. Luckily, with small selection comes a small price, Old Mexico offering either of their two draft beer options for a rock-bottom price. Perfect for a sit-down casual meal, Old Mexico is an interesting taste of an opposite border.
