A relaxed, casual atmosphere and a menu of staple foods make Arno's at 41 Main St. a perfect place to bring everyone for a meal. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Arno's makes any meal a treat. Its menu covers steaks, seafood, salads, with a selection of wines and a dessert list. This is also a fine place to have your required cup of Quahog chowder. For over 20 years, DeMarco Restaurant has provided authentic Northern Italian cuisine to the citizens and visitors of Nantucket. With its warm and romantic atmosphere, DeMarco is an excellent place to partake of a real Italian menu, including Tagliata di manzo (finely sliced filet mignon in a Portobella red wine sauce), Aragosta (grilled lobster tail with rucola pesto), and Linguine with Littleneck clams, pancetta, white wine and plenty of garlic. DeMarco's also offers beer, wine and a full array of drinks.
Company of the Cauldron is an interesting name, isn't it? With a name like that, you should be dining at midnight under a full moon at a crossroads. Instead, this restaurant is one of the most romantic places to eat on Nantucket. The menu changes weekly, so you will always be assured of something new. A classical harpist plays three times a week. If you want to take part in this dining experience, you will need to make reservations well in advance as the restaurant only has two seatings a night. The Cauldron serves beer and wine.
Oddly enough, it's a little difficult to find authentic Japanese cuisine on an island populated by New Englanders. Go figure. Filling the void is Sushi By Yoshi. The sushi is, in fact, prepared by Yoshi himself who was born and raised in Tokyo and is now bringing Nantucket a taste of the east. You can enjoy a menu of sushi as wide as you are likely to find. Step inside and enjoy something new.
The Ropewalk is not one of those restaurants where the menu covers a whole bunch of different food groups. It is, for the most past, seafood, fitting for a restaurant that sits right on the water. Enjoy dinner entrees like pan-seared wasabi-encrusted tuna, steamed Nantucket lobster, or the Ropewalks own surf 'n turf combination of shrimp wrapped in prosciutto. Along with lunch and dinner menus, a raw bar is open from 3p to 10p The beautiful surroundings alone warrant a stop here, especially in the evening.
Corazon del Mar on the island of Nantucket is a boisterous eatery that serves Latin-inspired dishes all year round. Enjoy refined version of your favorite Mexican meals, such as Chicken Mole Lettuce Cups, Mexican Black Truffle Quesadillas and Duck & Foie Gras Tacos. If you are more interested in something to take you back to a tropical climate, the extensive cocktail and wine menu offers a variety of Mexican beers, mixed drinks and wine by the glass.
This restaurant is a consistent favorite among locals and visitors alike. Crayons and white paper tablecloths also make it a hit with the kids. This is a great place to meet for a quick drink or an evening out, grab a snack, or feast on fresh lobster, chowder, sandwiches and pastas-the menu ranges from pub fare to full-course dinners. After dinner stick around for the music, dancing and other festivities. There are early bird specials and a children's menu.
This restaurant is a local favorite. The elegant dining room is divided into four areas, each with no more than four tables, creating an intimate and sophisticated atmosphere in this decidedly European-style restaurant. A mixture of American and international flavors have inspired the creation of such unusual dishes as roast loin of elk, buffalo, foie gras, yellowtail sashimi with jicama and jalapeno, and seared jumbo scallops with lemon risotto. Open year round, the restaurant has a full service bar.
There is usually a wait at this seafood hot spot; seating is done on a first-come, first-served basis, though reservations are taken for parties of six or more; but take the time to enjoy cocktails and appetizers on the patio or at the bar, and definitely try the house specialty drink, the Elbow Bender. The Lobster Trap also offers home delivery, private clambakes and early-bird specials. Children are welcome. Food is served until 10 but the bar stays open later.
New England, the Deep South, Pacific Northwest, and Wild West are not just four regions of the United States; they are also the menu categories at this upscale, popular eatery. Dishes are prepared in traditional style, using foods and flavors indigenous to each region. Patio dining is available in the warmer months; otherwise, eat in the cozy and casual, non-smoking dining room. The wine list is a regular Wine Spectator award winner.
