Of the many breweries in Summit County, Dillon Dam Brewery seems to rise above the rest. They serve up excellent brew house eats from wraps, pastas, and specialty burgers made beef, chicken, veggie or buffalo (try the Zurich: smoked bacon, guacamole, and gruyere) to gourmet meat entrées such as "
"Taj Mahal Osso-Bucco" and "
"San Luis Pepper Duck. Rock out to live music on Thursdays during the main summer and winter seasons, or sit outside and take in mountain views from the beer garden. And the highlight, of course, their extensive list of award winning home brews from summer ales to the "
"Damn Straight Lager.
Blue Spruce Inn has been a tradition in Summit County since the 1940's. First as an Inn, the Blue Spruce saw a good deal of travelers as it was located along the highway between Dillon and Breckenridge. Its current location, in Frisco just off highway 70 on the way to Breckenridge, makes it an ideal stop on your way in or out of town. Wet your whistle in their historic saloon before your main course off their hearty menu in a "
"mountain casual atmosphere of steaks, seafood and pastas.
It is no secret among the locals that Breckenridge Brewery has great beer. It has been winning awards almost since it opened in 1990. The food is good too, offering typical brewpub classics like burgers, fish and chips and ribs. Then there are the Breckenridge Brewery originals like the Rocky Mountain Bleu Balls or Thai Grilled Salmon. Take it down with a cold Avalanche Ale or the rich and chocolatey Oatmeal Stout. Televisions at the bar make for great sports watching. Not a sports fan? Check out the stunning view of the Ten Mile Range. The venue is open daily from 11a.m.
This is one of those places that is a local favorite, a tourist favorite, and sometimes even a destination in itself. It's nothing fancy, but it's fun and the food is unbeatable. Mostly pasta dishes with a Jamaican twist, yes you read right, that go together like it was supposed to happen all along. After a day on the slopes go order a big plate of food, a pitcher of beer, and jam to some Reggae music. The locals say you'll never regret it.

Located in the Historic District of the city, Ember is quite the spot to hang out. The barman is a real treat as you watch him make the mixes. The wine list is quite extensive, so ask for some recommendations. Food is innovative and creatively presented. Great experience!
Kenosha Steak House serves hearty steak, barbecue and burger plates. Its friendly atmosphere makes Kenosha a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Sink your teeth into delectable entrees like "Colorado Lamb Chops" or "Thai Salmon Cakes." Their modern, yet comfortable, atmosphere makes for a memorable dining experience. They open daily from 11 a.m.
From the 1900s up to 1942, Summit County had nine operating dredges. This floating restaurant is a two million pound floating replica of one of the largest and longest ones that stopped operating in 1942 on the Blue River. Taste some of the local history while taking in the majestic view of the Blue River. The restaurant has a good selection of salads, pastas, steaks and seafood, fresh off the boat. A great place to bring the kids. The venue is open daily from 5:30 p.m.
The fast-growing restaurant chain inspired by Forrest Gump has a busy location on Main Street. It serves shrimp in more than a dozen styles, including fried, boiled and Cajun. You can also get good crab legs, ribs and burgers. Prices are moderate, and portions are generous. Beer and a limited wine selection are available. The atmosphere is casual and the cooking is "down home", just the way Forrest and Bubba like it. All in all, the place is quite fun.
