Established in the early '90s, Las Brisas (The Breezes) offers excellent Argentinean food and a romantic setting. Loocated on the Boardwalk on Hollywood Beach, it features delicious grilled meats-Skirt Steak, New York Strip, Flank Steak, and an exceptional Parrillada Mixed Grill for two. Pasta dishes and daily seafood special are also available. The dining rooms are simple (horse-racing photos abound) and somewhat cramped, but the beachfront location makes up for any deficiencies. A few outdoor tables are available.

This restaurant has all the appeal of a classic sushi bar including a bustling, friendly atmosphere, an unpretentious staff, and an extensive menu of healthy, innovative sushi creations. Sushi Tom is an excellent spot for a business meeting, a dinner with friends, or a quick bite. Choose from over 50 types of sushi rolls, including a fabulous spider roll. Hot entrees are also delicious, particularly the stir-fries. The restaurant is fairly small and usually busy, but seating is comfortable, nonetheless.

The name here means "Number One," and they certainly are when it comes to serving up excellent Japanese cuisine in an environment that appeals to both kids and adults. You won't find many sushi bars that cater to families, but this is one of them. Aside from a full menu of sushi rolls, Ichiban also offers a variety of other options-udon, katsu, teriyaki etc. The restaurant is casual, but not overly so. The dining area is spacious and Japanese art adorns the walls. The sushi chefs have created a number of unusual and inventive rolls that are well worth trying. The Super-Duper featuring three kinds of fish and several vegetables, is the favorite. If you aren't feeling quite daring enough, the more standard sushi is also available, along with a whole list of kitchen food-tempura, udon, teriyaki.
This is a pleasant little restaurant, popular for its family-style ambiance and its lengthy menu. Selections are fresh-tasting and well-spiced. Prices are quite reasonable and most entrees are best enjoyed between two or more people. The atmosphere is cozy, with Thai tchochkes on the walls. Try any of the curries and you won't be disappointed, but green curry with seafood is particularly delicious. Choose from a number of noodle dishes, the classic Pad Thai being one of the best. Spring rolls make an excellent starter.
2424 North University Drive (Corner of Sheridan) Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33024
This is an anything goes sort of place. The heavy-hitting menu (Tuscan cuisine) is balanced by a light atmosphere. You never know when someone may grab a microphone and honor the room with a song...and more often than not, that person is the restaurant owner. Wear your tuxedo or your most comfortable jeans. The crowd here is largely made up of regulars who just keep coming back for good food and good times. A variety of pasta dishes are available, most of which are heavily sauced. Meat and fish dishes offer a tasty alternative to pasta.
The specialty here is grilled food, but you won't find any predictable grilled chicken dishes here. Although the menu is primarily French-continental, many of the dishes feature unique flavor combinations. Specialties include a fabulous rack of lamb, New York sirloin, and several delicious seafood options. For a tasty treat, try the roasted duck with orange and ginger sauce. The decor here is anything but austere. Though the furniture and decorative touches may be antique, the overall effect is charming rather than intimidating.
4650 North Federal Highway Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33064
This restaurant enjoys a fine reputation and has even received awards from "Wine Spectator Magazine." The building itself is stately with a broad fern-lined path leading to the front door. Inside, the ambience is elegant and reserved. The star of the menu is steak, which comes in a variety of cuts including filet mignon and a gigantic 24-ounce porterhouse. Other entrees are diverse-lamb chops, lobster, shrimp, and several fresh fish dishes. Of course, no meal is complete without the appropriate selection from the restaurant's award-winning wine list.
Giorgio's changes its themes and specials according to the day and time. During the evenings it is a bustling bistro. After 10pm on weekends, it turns into a bona fide supper club, complete with lively, thumping music and shouting revelers. The restaurant serves Mediterranean-American cuisine at mid-range prices and the menu offers a good variety of dishes.
600 North Surf Road Between New York and Fillmore Streets Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33019
Do not classify this off-the-beaten-path restaurant as just another greasy beachside cafe, for it exudes surprising charm and a magical kitchen. A playfully colored interior, fabulous view, and casually elegant atmosphere set the pace. The menu offers something for every mood, whether you crave a simple sandwich or escargot. All dishes are prepared French-Caribbean style, resulting in a wide range of spices and flavors. The pork loin with mango relish and the Tropical Stew are two of its more popular dishes. Opens daily at 9am.
234 North Ocean Boulevard Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33441
Seafood delights for you here at Oceans 234. The restaurant is the best pace to visit if you would like to have a meal with a gorgeous view of the ocean. The food here is never cooked with over powering flavors, just simple ingredients that complement the natural flavor of the fish. The recommended dishes here are the Ocean's Crispy Calamari, Lobster Tail and the Sauteed Shrimp Linguini.
