Hawkers is located in the Colonialtown North area of Orlando and anyone who has traveled to various Asian countries probably already knows the term. Hawkers are very vocal street vendors who sell their food from self-drawn carts, but there are no carts here. This restaurant is permanent and serves customers a variety of tasty Asian street foods from a number of countries in a no-frills, comfortable and contemporary setting. The decor does include photos of genuine street hawkers and the menu offers a wide assortment of Asian dishes including tapas as well a nice selection of Asian beers.
Saigon Flavors is located northeast of Orlando in the nearby friendly town of Oviedo. Guests can enjoy an upscale, contemporary dining experience fused with customary Vietnamese cuisine. The owner, Charlie Tang, spent years perfecting his "dream restaurant" with Saigon Flavors as the result. The décor is modern and elegant, yet the atmosphere is casual and welcoming. A short drive south of Downtown between the Oak Ridge and Pine Castle areas, you will find what was once a fast food restaurant, but is now called Tortas El Rey - King of the Sandwich. The restaurant features a drive-through window and walk-up order window, along with several covered outdoor tables for people who want to enjoy their meal on the spot. Tortas El Rey's menu includes a large variety of homemade tortas (sandwiches), tacos, and burritos created with authentic Mexican ingredients. The selection of drinks includes several imported beverages from Mexico.
Fantastic Hummus is a food truck specializing in genuine, high-quality Mediterranean foods. Look for their truck at a number of farmers markets and other food truck gatherings around Central Florida. This includes places such as Maitland, Lake Eola, College Park, Winter Park and others. Some of the favorite menu items offered include hummus (of course), spinach pies, falafels, Shish Tawook (grilled chicken), and baklava.
