This family-run Mexican establishment is located in a bustling part of town, right behind The Ted and in trendy Ghent neighborhood, and is definitely a popular spot with the local college scene. Although La Herradura sometimes has a reputation for being on the slow-side, they more than make up for any inadequacy with their delicious and authentic cuisine. The price point is very reasonable and often have specials on cerveza (beer).

Originally opened in 1966, Orapax is a Tidewater mainstay and has greatly expanded over the past few decades while still remaining in the Seratis family. Now run by the son of the original owner, the restaurant is best known for it's pizza and Greek subs. The family establishment has gotten rave reviews for many years and it is a popular lunch destination with the locals. They cater for special events, offer delivery and take-out.

Fresh food is the specialty at Pasha Mezza, serving up homemade soups, hummus and vegetable plates, poultry and lamb dishes and vegetarian spreads. The majority of the produce and meat is from locally grown farms and the owners take pride in offering its customers healthy options including daily specials and private event catering. A perfect little diner. Known for it's omelets, you can even try to answer the Killer Omelet Challenge: a dozen egg mom's omelet with their famous habanero salsa and a stack of 8 Charlie's Pancakes. In addition to Charlie's Cafe footing the bill, you get a t-shirt if you're able to finish it all in an hour, provided you don't leave your seat.
