Mingling with the fresh scent of pine in Flagstaff's brisk mountain air, you'll note an intoxicating aroma of coffee wafting from this coffee shop. The eclectic and cozy establishment is bustling with students, professionals and visitors from all over the world who've stopped in for just-brewed beans ground fresh on the premises. If good coffee is an art, Macy's is this town's favorite gallery. Complement your cup with a delectable from the pastry counter; this cafe is also famous for its baked sensations. Besides coffee sipping, this spot is famous for its poetry nights, Sunday morning story-telling, and opera nights.
Wash down your burger, sandwich or wood-fired pizza with a handcrafted beer from the award-winning selection. You can even watch the chefs prepare your meal and the brewmeisters brewing the ales and porters. During the summer, dine on the "Beer Garden" patio. The Whistle Stop Cafe now offers full banquet facilities. This is an Arizona Republic newspaper choice for both "Best Restaurant" and "Best Bar" in Flagstaff. The food here is quite ambitious for pub fare. The dinner menu changes nightly. There is a newly added billiards room. Opens daily, at 11:30a.
A frequent winner of "best breakfast" and "best desserts" awards locally, this strip-mall cafe is a comfortable place to relax with a specialty coffee. Start the day with a freshly cooked breakfast or traditional European-style pastry. The Tucson Daily Citizen once referred to it as "Flagstaff's best kept secret," but we're letting the word out. Hearty breakfasts include unique offerings like trout and eggs, homemade Swedish oat pancakes and the house special, Eggs Brandy (poached eggs on a bagel, topped with Hollandaise sauce). Service is friendly and attentive, and a tempting display of baked goods gives the place a homey feel.

You will just have to stop by to find out. Other than the mysterious pies, this popular Flagstaff brewpub offers ales that have been made on-site, using traditional brewing methods. The menu offers cuisine that is both made with, and matches well with, the beers. So grab a seat at the bar and hoist a mug of Mogollon's best. The atmosphere is friendly and the place virtually screams "brew pub" with its production paraphernalia. Both bar and table seating are available for dining. Live music is offered six nights a week. Pizzas, sandwiches and a few hot items are offered with its house-brewed beers as a main ingredient.
This is one of Flagstaff's most popular places for those of the non-nightclub set, especially those of the vegetarian persuasion. Works by local artists grace the walls, and the menu includes everything from amaranth to tempeh. The outdoor deck is a favorite place to sip an espresso and read, or discuss current events and environmental issues. Remember, this is a laid-back kind of place, so don't expect speedy service.
When it's not too crowded, this is a good place to kick back, enjoy a cold beer and maybe play a game of pool or catch some sports on the big screen television. There's even an outdoor heated patio for you to mingle. Don't expect to get in when there's anything happening at Northern Arizona University (NAU) because it will be packed from opening to close. This is a stereotypical college-town bar with big mugs of beer and a menu of burgers, wings, sandwiches and things. Food ranges from USD6-10; drinks USD3-6. On most nights there's DJ music, but occasionally there is a live band. Unless there's live entertainment, there's no cover charge.
The two dining rooms here are decked out in different decors: one has sunny yellow walls and a more airy feel, while the other has a sports classic East Coast Italian styling with brick walls and painted tin ceilings. No matter where you're seated though, you still get the same great meals. On the menu, you'll find both traditional and creative pasta dishes. There is also a wide variety of appetizing entrées such as the Shrimp Parmigiana and Pine Nut Crusted Chicken.
