Despite its name, this fine dining venue is large and lively with big-time rustic charm. When NAU students set out to impress a date, or are dining on their parents' dollar, this is where they head. The menu concentrates on Italian specialties but also includes a fair share of steak and seafood dishes. The soup, shrimp, salad and fresh fruit bar is legendary. Though the dining room has a somewhat formal air, the adjacent sports bar is usually loud and lively, especially on NAU game days. Opens everyday at 11a.

Live entertainment is also on tap nightly.
When it's not too crowded, this is a good place to kick back, enjoy a cold beer and maybe play a game of pool or catch some sports on the big screen television. There's even an outdoor heated patio for you to mingle. Don't expect to get in when there's anything happening at Northern Arizona University (NAU) because it will be packed from opening to close. This is a stereotypical college-town bar with big mugs of beer and a menu of burgers, wings, sandwiches and things. Food ranges from USD6-10; drinks USD3-6. On most nights there's DJ music, but occasionally there is a live band. Unless there's live entertainment, there's no cover charge.
This pizzeria and Italian restaurant is a local favorite for its New-York style pizzas and ultra-affordable Italian dinners. It's the perfect place to bring the kids and enjoy a filling feast either indoors or on the patio. There's nothing fancy here, just a friendly staff and flavorful Italian food that will make you want to "mangia". Twenty-four topping choices are available for the New York-style pizzas. A children's menu is available. Beer, wine and specialty coffee drinks are also offered. Opens everyday at 11a.
Wash down your burger, sandwich or wood-fired pizza with a handcrafted beer from the award-winning selection. You can even watch the chefs prepare your meal and the brewmeisters brewing the ales and porters. During the summer, dine on the "Beer Garden" patio. The Whistle Stop Cafe now offers full banquet facilities. This is an Arizona Republic newspaper choice for both "Best Restaurant" and "Best Bar" in Flagstaff. The food here is quite ambitious for pub fare. The dinner menu changes nightly. There is a newly added billiards room. Opens daily, at 11:30a.
Mingling with the fresh scent of pine in Flagstaff's brisk mountain air, you'll note an intoxicating aroma of coffee wafting from this coffee shop. The eclectic and cozy establishment is bustling with students, professionals and visitors from all over the world who've stopped in for just-brewed beans ground fresh on the premises. If good coffee is an art, Macy's is this town's favorite gallery. Complement your cup with a delectable from the pastry counter; this cafe is also famous for its baked sensations. Besides coffee sipping, this spot is famous for its poetry nights, Sunday morning story-telling, and opera nights.
Yes, you'll find traditional burritos, tamales and tacos here, but you'll also find more creative fare, not to mention a more healthful approach to Mexican cuisine. The kitchen's lard-free cooking uses only pure vegetable oils, an artery-sparing alternative to the usual fat-laden fare. Be sure to try the Green Chile Tamales and the Chicken Posole Stew. Many vegetarian dishes are also offered. Sip an unusual tequila/wine margarita along with your lunch or dinner. This place feels a lot more like earthy Flagstaff than many of the pseudo South-of-the Border restaurants in town.
Salads, sandwiches, soups and baked goods are made fresh daily using top quality natural ingredients at this favorite Flagstaff market and deli. You'll never find any artificial flavors, colors or preservatives here. Anyone with vegetarian dietary preferences (no matter how strict) or special dietary restrictions should give this place a try. A few tables are available for dining in, but most of the business is on a take-out basis.
