Drapes and lamps punctuate the minimal interiors to present a beautiful setting while floor-to-ceiling panels frame great street views.

The menu tweaks authentic Japanese flavors with Latin American influences to suit the modern palate. Local ingredients combine with traditional cooking styles to present imaginative renditions of oriental classics. Tuck into tempura fried vegetables, Teppanyaki, Nigiri and Sashimi, and gorge on their signature rolls like the spicy Godzilla or Diamond in a sophisticated ambiance.
Chef Matt Nicholson brings Italian authenticity to Austin's Domain Drive at Maggiano's. The lovely restaurant illustrates the same passion, warmth and tradition associated with the country. Indulge in timeless appetizers, pasta, seafood and meat preparations like Tuscan Style Mussels, Sausage Flatbread and Veal Parmesan. Their famous Rigatoni D in Marsala cream sauce deserves a special mention. The ambiance oozes an understated elegance and plays host to private events. Nestled deep within the beautiful, woody Arboretum lies the Drunk Fish, an Asian restaurant specializing in traditional Japanese dishes, sushi, and Korean cuisine (the owners are a sweet pair from South Korea). Formerly Wiki Wiki Teriyaki and situated near a serene, flowing stream, Drunk Fish is like a Zen Buddhist temple amidst the stressful bumper-to-bumper traffic within the adjacent Highway 183. While the restaurant may seem cramped (it IS within a strip mall, mind you), it is a two-story establishment with more room on the second floor. Bottled, iced green tea soothes as it energizes, while the sashimi combos provide delicate flavors from the freshest fish. Generous curry bowls are not too spicy as they are normally, but every bit as savory. -Freddie Obregon
Japanese food, especially sushi, is not hard to come by in Austin, but there are some restaurants that are especially noteworthy. Japon, an award-winning sushi restaurant, is one of them. The restaurant is split into a bar and a restaurant, but those who visit come for the great selection of sushi, particularly for the chef's special roll. For the purist, there are traditional maki, nigiri and sashimi selections to choose from. Those who are craving something different can order the teppanyaki option for lunch and dinner. To add to its great menu, Japon offers coupon deals now and again on their website, giving people even more reason to visit. -Tope Eletu-Odibo

This is an Italian Restaurant located in North Austin within the Domain Mall. For those that crave some Italian delights, drop by to grab something to eat while you're out shopping around this luxurious mall. There's a patio for those who prefer eating outside and enjoying the weather. Their menu offers pizza, spaghetti, and other typical Italian plates. Prices can range from USD10-USD20 per plate depending on what you order. Though, if you're not a ravenous eater, perhaps you'd consider sharing a plate with someone else, since these plates tend to be somewhat big for just one individual. This restaurant also has a very friendly and attentive staff. -Ana Victoria Perez
The Jim's Restaurant location right before the intersection of Highway 183 and the MoPac Freeway is like an independent Denny's but with a more extensive menu. The dining room is brightly lit (perfect for helping the sleepy and the tired wake up for a busy day), and the service is friendly and quite knowledgeable (possibly due to that southern hospitality mindset). In a city like Austin, where physical fitness is highly valued, it is nice to know that Jim's offers healthy fare, such as cereal, bagels with cream cheese, fresh fruit, whole wheat options, and the Cereal Combo (hot or cold cereal with a side of fresh, seasonal fruit and toast), amongst other selections. Wash everything down with a cup of their Special Blend Coffee. -Freddie Obregon
