For a taste of Thai street food, try Tuk Tuk Thai Loft, named for the colorful auto rickshaws found on Bangkok's busy streets. Located on the second floor, the open dining room and terrace provides beautiful city views. The menu offers a variety of small plates, salads, soups, noodles, entrees and desserts. The best way to eat at Tuk Tuk is to order a variety of dishes to share. Be prepared to order at least two small dishes per person as portions are fairly small. Standouts include the Moo Yang, pork skewers which are playfully served hanging upside down, Hoy Tod, a crispy Thai omelet, and Kra Pow Moo, minced pork topped with a fried egg. The restaurant also offers a thoughtful wine list.

RiRa's is the latest Irish pub to grace the streets of the Atlanta South. With many of the furnishings shipped in from a restored pub in Ireland, this pub prides itself on authenticity and tradition. Serving up Irish staples such as fish and chips and always having traditional Irish brews on tap, RiRa's has made a home for itself in Atlanta as the "new" Irish hotspot. Although the beers and decor may be traditional, the cuisine is a mixture of classic Irish dishes fused with American favorites to get the best of both worlds. The pub is a great place to meet up with friends to take in a FIFA match or catch some all-American Football (not soccer).
Popular among the college crowd, Flip Flops Atlanta is one of the most happening additions to the Midtown bar scene. Its name is appropriate due to the beach decor and laid back atmosphere of the venue which hosts live music from local bands on one level and a DJ on the next level. The event schedule is jam packed with beach parties. Put on your beach sandals and head over to Flip Flops Atlanta.

Hip and casual, Top Flr serves creative bistro fare, quality wines and inventive cocktails late into the evening. While there is a small downstairs dining space, the main dining room is on the top floor. Sleek and contemporary, the interior is the perfect backdrop for the food. Standout menu items include the applewood bacon pizza and mussels in a coconut lime soy broth. The small, but carefully selected wine list, changes weekly. Best of all, the restaurant's prices are reasonable, and the service is top-notch.

Vortex offers its award-winning burgers and contentious service from its original location in Midtown Atlanta. Originally opened in 1992 by a trio of siblings, this burger spot commands a cult-like following that mimics something akin to Stockholm Syndrome. The funky names of their burgers belie their generally conventional nature, the Lone Star Tex Melt, for instance, an iteration of barbecue sauce and onion rings with a cheddar-topped patty. Some of the burgers verge onto novelty territory such as the Triple Coronary Bypass, featuring an overload of patties, fried eggs, cheese and bacon between two grilled cheese sandwiches, something more at home on a reality TV promo. There are a number of caloric appetizers, sandwiches and sides, although the burgers are definitely the focus here. The burgers are worth checking out, although be advised the restaurant is 18 and up to accommodate cigarette smoking throughout the restaurant.
