Sam's All American Sports Bar has been voted "Best Sports Bar" in Nashville seven times by the Nashville Scene Magazine, and they know what they're talking about. With two locations, one in Hillsboro Village and one in Hendersonville, all of Nashville has an opportunity to enjoy a game at Sam's. Unlike many chain restaurants and bars, Sam's puts just as much emphasis on their food as they do on the big game. The pizzas are handcrafted and creative and the burgers are juicy and delicious, but nobody really goes to Sam's just for the food, as there are plenty of other options in the area. Check out their website for Happy Hour specials and events. You'll be sure to have a great time at Sam's. -Lynn-nore Chittom

With stores such as Talbots, Coldwater Creek, Ann Taylor Loft, Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, Cache, Gymboree, Justice for Kids, this outdoor mall offers customers all the best shopping in a very appealing setting. The streets are lined with sidewalks and streetlamps and the center square includes a grassy lawn, park benches, a kid-friendly fountain, and a complete sound system which offers a musical backdrop for shoppers. A few restaurants, a local ice cream parlor, a Barnes and Noble and a Regal Cinema Multiplex compliment the shops and offer more options for guests to this outdoor shopping experience. Located just northeast of Nashville, this shopping area will become the epicenter of a new development plan called Indian Lake Village.
Some of the spiciest, freshest and most delicious Mexican food is served inside this no-nonsense eatery called Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant. Lunch specials are less then $5, and dinner is only a few dollars more. Enchiladas, chimichangas and stuffed bell peppers are prepared by the kitchen in a flash; and are even better than those found in restaurants charging twice as much. Bring a big appetite because they don't skimp on portions, and that goes double for the margaritas! There's usually a line for a table here, but it's worth the wait.

Blackstone is a great choice for casual dining with a group of friends. The pizzas here are of the build-your-own variety with ample amounts of vegetables, meats and cheeses, and your choice of crust. The real draw is the beer. All varieties are brewed on-site and include something for everyone, lager, ale, pilsner, stout, pale, you name it, they brew it.

The Exit has long been the source of live entertainment in the Elliston Square area, but over the course of its history it has suffered neglect. It is amazing that a club that was featured in movies and books, and even Rolling Stone magazine, could fall into such disrepair. Unwilling to see the club close down, Ned Horton stepped in and took over ownership. Today, after much renovation, including a new sound and lighting system, Horton has rebuilt the Exit's reputation as a premier music venue. Changing the name to Exit/In and booking a more eclectic mix of artists, Horton brought this little club, as well as the entire Elliston Square area, back to life.
Trendy coffee shops are common in Nashville, but the 22nd Street Cafe is different in that also serves up great live jazz and blues. The shop is frequented by college students and young professionals looking for a good cup of java and a chance to unwind. The atmosphere here is relaxing and artistic. Paintings and drawings by local artists hang on the walls. Try the caramel flavored coffee, it's a tasty and original blend.
The Broadway Brewhouse & Mojo is Louisiana Cajun-style cooking in a casual environment, served up with the largest selection of beer in town, making this establishment a popular nightspot. Jambalaya and gumbo are never short on heat and are always chock full of crawfish, unlike some of the other so called Cajun eateries around town. Lovers of Southwestern food will be thrilled to find tortilla dishes loaded with rice and beans, rich sauces and hearty spices.

Voted Nashville's "Most Romantic Restaurant" in a recent local newspaper poll, this classically elegant favorite stands out from the rest by serving American fare in an intimate atmosphere. The menu includes fresh seafood, steaks, veal, and pork along with an award-winning wine list. A wide selection of homemade sandwiches, pastas, salads and desserts complete the menu.
The Jam Coffee House is the perfect Belmont retreat for coffee, quiet and pastries. Unlike similar establishments in the nearby 12th South District, this pleasant university town coffee shop has a much calmer vibe. As the old saying goes, The Jam is not to be judged by its cover. Located behind a liquor store in the corner of a small strip mall, the outside is not what matters most. The interior offers a variety of delicious coffee house treats and great place to unwind. Check out the tea list as the offerings at The Jam are better than most coffee houses. -Lynn-nore Chittom
