In spite of the fact that it performs on the Cabrillo College stage, this is actually a professional theater troupe. It is one of the very few in the region, in fact. It presents one show a year, always in the summertime and always a Broadway musical. Past productions include "The King and I", "Funny Girl."

Golden State Theatre rose to fame in the days when sound was still a distant dream in cinema and your favorite actors had to rely merely on facial expressions. With a capacity to seat around 1600 people, the place was probably the largest in California. In spite of the new theaters cropping up every decade, Golden State still continues to rule the hearts of Monterey's residents. Movies, orchestras and musical concerts entertain thousands every week.
Located right on the waterfront, this restaurant has a spectacular view of the water. You will even see otters leaping around right outside your window. The friendly professional staff serves up great seafood dishes like Dungeness Cracked Crab and several steak, pasta, and grilled dishes. Most importantly, this place features the only piano bar in all of Monterey. Entertainment begins at 7pm daily and this place makes for a great casual dinner, a romantic evening, or just a place to grab a cocktail and to escape the tourist masses.

A number of vegetarian choices are on the menu at this cheerful Pacific Grove dining spot. Herbivores can dine on delicacies such as Portobello Mushroom Ravioli or Quattro Tagioni Pizza. There are quite a few meat choices (such as the elegant Basil Steak), but in general the cuisine is a bit lighter than the rich fare found at many Italian eateries. A fresh seafood specialty is featured every day. There is a limited wine and beer selection. The decor is breezy and casually upscale. There is no dress code and the service is great. See website for menu, take-out options, photos, and more.
