For music lovers, Do (pronounced "dough") at the View has found its niche, turning your old pizza parlor into an interactive experience for the eyes, ears, and taste buds. Inside, the white walls would be stark but for the colorful lights projected in patterns on the wall to match the beat of music. Behind the bar, the images of liquor bottles are projected. Every table has a personal iPad, on which diners can pick out food, as well as vote on the music that is played. Each menu item is musically titled, with specials like the Maestro, which is a pizza with garlic cream sauce, shrimp, spinach, and cheese. Do is only open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, so reservations are recommended.

In the stuffy success of the Old Fourth Ward's restaurant revival, Across the Street provides a welcome injection of fun with a splash of color, strong margaritas, and one of the best outdoor patios in the Atlanta metro area. The food is consistently raved about and rightly so, showing off several classic Tex-Mex dishes made with fresh ingredients, and offering a vegetarian version of almost everything. The real attraction, however, is the margarita pitcher deals for only USD25 and ready to enjoy on the patio during sweltering Southern summers. A feast for the taste buds as well as the eyes, Across the Street is the perfect place to unwind.

For the Japanese twist on the tapas bar, come to Miso Izakaya. In Japan, an izakaya is a bar where the alcohol is the main dish and foods are served as an accompaniment. It is meant to be a casual, relaxing experience, and Miso Izakaya delivers with a minimalistic airy room and delicious, modern dishes. A customer favorites is the Shoyu Tamago (fried egg with soy sauce over seasoned rice cakes), which complements a carafe of sake or glass of shochu perfectly. The chef puts interesting Southern touches on common menu items, like the Tonkatsu Sandwich, a pork cutlet served with Japanese mustard cabbage and tempura onion rings. Sample any of the large assortment of sushi along with your sake, and take a load off after work any day.
