330 East Main Street Aspen, CO 81611 +1 970 920 1000
This Aspen mainstay, located inside the Hotel Jerome, has been pouring cold drafts since the 1890s. It is a favorite of locals who affectionately refer to it as the J-Bar. A big wooden bar with a mirrored backdrop dominates the room and exudes an old-time feel that begs one to hunker down with a beer and a newspaper. An adjoining room with a large screen TV is a prime perch for sports watching and somehow does not detract from the bar's vintage feel. The menu is classic bar food fare and features burgers, sandwiches, salads and appetizers. The bar is full service and offers a great beer selection of imports, domestics and microbrews.
320 South Galena Street Aspen, CO 81611 +1 970 925 7585
You do not need directions to this bakery. All you have to do is look for a line of people, or follow the sweet scent that tauntingly lingers outside its doorway. From the moment this bakery opens to the moment it closes it always has a throng of customers. Its always-fresh muffins, cookies, and croissants are popular especially with an accompanying espresso, latté or cappuccino. The greatness of its gelati and frozen yogurt can be attested by almost always seeing someone outside the doors licking a cone no matter how bitter the weather.
320 East Hyman Avenue Aspen, CO 81611 +1 970 920 5770
Since 1889, this landmark has been the center of Aspen's cultural scene. Listed on the National Registrar of Historical Places, the building has experienced two major renovations and to this day looks like it did when it first opened. Lectures, concerts, musicals, community theater, and foreign and independent film showings keep its stage occupied almost every day of the year. Although seating may be a bit cramped, the interior's detailed woodwork will be more than enough to make up for it.

10 Village Square Snowmass Village Mall Snowmass, CO 81615 +1 970 923 3515
This happy place is one of the few spots in Snowmass that invites one to plop down at the bar and enjoy a cold draft while watching a game on TV. Bar stools line its huge corner windows that afford unobstructed views of the mall. If you prefer a table, there are several booths that strangely resemble wooden Tilt-a-Whirls. Video machines, and pool and foosball tables adorn the room. The menu offers classic bar food such as wings, pizza, calamari, burgers and sandwiches.
