The Hills took much care in the designing and building of their mansion, including the 550 pound mesquite front door, which was hand-carved into four panels showing the historical evolution of the region. The current owners, the Rama family, continue to care thoughtfully for the ambiance of the house through their collection of rare treasures from cultures worldwide. Casa Rama is available for retreats, meetings, parties, and simple overnight accommodations.

The Harlingen Holiday Inn Express is located within walking distance of plenty of shops, restaurants, and a large movie theater. The Express Start breakfast offers a complimentary selection of breakfast foods and the hotel features a fitness center, free WiFi, a business center, and a pool and jacuzzi. The hotel is located five miles from the Valley International Airport and offers free transportation to and from it.
