Longfellow's Wayside Inn has accumulated centuries of history since it opened in 1716. After Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's (1807-1882) book of poems Tales of the Wayside Inn was published in 1863, the establishment became a famous literary retreat. It now houses historic archives dating back to 1686, as well as dining, lodging and a gift shop. The restaurant offers a delightful fare of both American cuisine and traditional English meals. Staying at this Inn enables you to get the feel of the charming medieval age that serves as a pleasant deviation from the fast paced "city-culture." But do not be deceived, this place is no less when it comes to providing modern amenities to its guests. Where, customer satisfaction holds the highest value, Longfellow's Wayside Inn is certainly an obvious choice for comfort stay.
